Temporary traffic signals will be in place on the A226 London Road in Swanscombe from 30th March to 1st May to facilitate fence replacement works.
Residents and commuters using the A226 London Road in Swanscombe should be prepared for temporary traffic signals during fence replacement works. The scheme will operate across two distinct phases, each affecting different sections of the road.
Phase 1 will commence on 30th March with two-way temporary signals installed near Knockhall Road. These signals will operate between 09:30 and 15:30 each day, allowing traffic to pass in both directions through the restricted section. Motorists should expect potential delays during these daytime hours as traffic is controlled by the temporary signalling system.
Following the completion of Phase 1 works, Phase 2 will introduce four-way temporary signals at Craylands Lane. These signals will manage traffic flow at this junction to maintain safe passage whilst fence replacement continues in the area. The full scheme will remain in place until 1st May 2026.
Drivers are advised to allow additional time for their journeys through this section and to follow all temporary signage carefully. The works are essential for maintaining the road infrastructure in the area.
