ALERT: Engineering Works Close Multiple Kent Railway Lines This Weekend

Network Rail engineers will replace trains with buses across south-east London and Kent on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March, affecting multiple routes.

Extensive engineering work is taking place this weekend across the South Eastern Railway network as Network Rail completes vital maintenance and upgrades to improve reliability and safety. The work will require temporary closures on several key routes, with accessible replacement buses operating throughout the affected areas.

On the weekend of 21 and 22 March, no trains will run between New Cross and Dartford via Bexleyheath, with replacement buses serving all stations on this route. Additionally, on Sunday 22 March, buses will replace trains between Dover Priory and Canterbury East during early morning hours, with services resuming from 06:30. Passengers are advised that journeys by replacement bus may take longer than usual train services.

Further disruption will affect the Paddock Wood to Ashford International line on Sunday 22 March, along with multiple other routes across the region as engineers complete follow-up work from the major February upgrade at Dartford Junction and undertake other essential track maintenance. Ticket acceptance will be in place to allow passengers flexibility when using replacement bus services.
