ALERT: Rail Engineering Works Disrupt Services 21–22 March

Southeastern Railway passengers face significant disruption across south London and Kent routes this weekend as essential engineering work takes place.

Southeastern Railway will close multiple lines on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March to carry out planned engineering maintenance. The most significant disruption will affect the Lewisham area, where all trains will be cancelled for the entire weekend. Passengers are advised to use replacement bus services during this period.

On Saturday 21 March, buses will replace trains between New Cross and Dartford, travelling via Bexleyheath to maintain connectivity across south London. This service ensures residents can continue travelling to these key commuter destinations, though journey times will be longer than usual.

Sunday 22 March will see additional disruption, with replacement buses operating between Beckenham Junction and connecting stations. The Paddock Wood to Ashford International route will also be affected, with buses replacing trains for the duration of the engineering works. Passengers travelling between these locations should allow extra time for their journeys.

Network Rail engineers are conducting essential maintenance to improve track condition, upgrade signalling equipment, and strengthen the network’s long-term reliability.
