Kent County Council has extended the St. Augustine’s Road closure in Canterbury to allow additional carriageway repair work to be completed.
Motorists travelling through Canterbury should be aware that St. Augustine’s Road remains closed to through traffic as Kent County Council continues essential carriageway repairs in the area. The closure, originally scheduled to finish earlier, has now been extended and will remain in place until 20th March at 15:30.
The temporary traffic regulation allows utility and repair works to be carried out safely, with the restriction affecting through traffic on the affected section of St. Augustine’s Road. Pedestrian access is being maintained throughout the works to minimise disruption to residents and visitors in the town centre.
Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes and allow extra time for journeys in the Canterbury area. The extension ensures that all necessary repairs are completed to full standard, with the road expected to reopen fully once works conclude on 20th March.
