Luke Johnson, 36, of Old Park Avenue, Canterbury, was sentenced to six years in prison on 21 August 2026 after pleading guilty to four offences including sexual assault and taking indecent images of children.
Johnson was arrested after Kent Police identified an online account linked to him that had been used to upload indecent images of children. Officers executed a warrant at his Canterbury address on 13 October 2025, seizing four mobile phones and a memory card. Johnson was not present at the address when officers arrived. He was arrested later that day and released on bail while detectives examined the seized devices.
A forensic review of the seized property uncovered more than 25 indecent images and videos of children. That evidence led investigators to establish that Johnson had been directly abusing the young victims and creating images of that abuse. He was arrested again on 23 March 2026, charged with four offences and remanded in custody.
He pleaded guilty to all four charges. The court also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the rest of his life, with four years of licensed supervision to follow his prison term.
Detective Constable Amber Pollitt, the investigating officer, said the recovered images revealed the full extent of the abuse Johnson had inflicted. She said the swift identification of the victims by her team meant that safeguarding was put in place at the earliest opportunity. DC Pollitt noted that Johnson had shown no remorse throughout the entire court process, and acknowledged the support of the victims’ families and the dedication of the investigating team in bringing him to justice.
