Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) was called to the house fire in Kilndown Close at 1.53am. Six fire engines and a height vehicle were sent, and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used main jets to tackle the blaze.

People living or travelling near the area were advised overnight to keep windows and doors closed because of smoke.
