The full results from the 2026 Kent Health, Hair & Beauty Awards, announced at the Ashford International Hotel on 16 October
The winners of the 2026 Kent Health, Hair & Beauty Awards have been announced, with gold, silver and bronze awards presented across 20 categories at the Ashford International Hotel on Friday 16 October, along with a special award, the Inspired Achievement Award.
Every one of the 121 shortlisted places received a gold, silver or bronze award; gold is the top honour in each category.
Jo Shapter of East Kent Foot Care won two golds: the Inspired Achievement Award and the Service Excellence Award.
The awards are run by Kent Business Awards. Nominations are open to the public, and a judging panel decides the shortlist and the results. The organisers said they received more than 150 nominations this year.

Two finalists Kent Local News has followed
Karistyle, the single-handed salon in a pod on a smallholding at Otham, near Maidstone, won gold for Home Based Business of the Year and bronze for Hair & Beauty Business of the Year. Karis Petersen, who runs it, won silver for Hair Stylist of the Year. Karistyle was already national runner-up for Best Home Salon at this year’s UK Hair & Beauty Awards; Kent Local News reported that result in September.
Karis Petersen told Kent Local News: “To bring home three awards for my little salon in Otham means an enormous amount. I’ve poured so much into creating KARISTYLE, where salon meets smallholding, and I’m incredibly grateful to every client who supports this slightly unconventional dream!”
At Prestige Beauty Academy in Faversham, which trains young people including learners with education, health and care plans, founder and principal Mary Hickson won gold for Industry Trainer of the Year and bronze in the Community Impact Award. She appears on the organiser’s lists under her maiden name, Smith.
