Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court granted a further three-month extension to a closure order on a Keary Road property on 25 August 2026, giving Dartford Borough Council more time to take formal possession of the address.
A residential property in Keary Road, Swanscombe, will stay shut to unauthorised visitors for another three months after Kent Police successfully applied for an extension at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 25 August 2026. The original order was granted at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court back in May 2026, after neighbours made repeated complaints about antisocial behaviour and suspected drug dealing at the address.
Anyone trying to get in without authorisation faces arrest, a fine and possible jail time.
The extension gives Dartford Borough Council additional time to formally take possession of the property.
Inspector Jamie Little, of Kent Police, said: “This order will continue to provide respite to residents and enable us to work further with housing officers to prevent any future crime and disorder at the property. As always, we will use all the powers available to us to respond robustly to community concerns and bring cases before the courts where necessary.”
The occupants left after the initial order came into force in May. Under closure order legislation, magistrates can restrict access to premises linked to serious nuisance, disorder or criminal activity. Unauthorised entry becomes a criminal offence.
