Jorge Payana Bonilla, 39, of Tottenham, admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine and two driving offences at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 7 September 2026 after being stopped by Kent Police in Lyons Crescent, Tonbridge, two days earlier.
Patrol officers spotted a suspicious vehicle in Lyons Crescent, Tonbridge, at around 3.45pm on Saturday 5 September 2026. Inside: vials of cocaine tucked into a hide in the central console, two mobile phones, and a quantity of cash stuffed in the pockets of a jacket left on the back seat. Roadside checks then revealed the driver had no licence and no insurance.
Jorge Payana Bonilla — a 39-year-old Spanish national with an address in Lansdowne Road, Tottenham — was arrested at the scene and charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance. Remanded to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court two days later, he pleaded guilty to all three offences at that first hearing. Less than 48 hours after the stop.
He was released on bail, with sentencing to follow at Maidstone Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed.
Kent Police published details of the case on 14 September 2026, describing it as proactive patrol work. Officers had marked the vehicle as suspicious before pulling it over — which, given what they found, turned out to be something of an understatement.
