Three men were arrested on Sunday 9 August 2026 after a car failed to stop for officers on the A26 Tonbridge Road and led police on a chase through West Peckham and west Kent. Proactive patrols had spotted the vehicle at around 10pm, heading towards Seven Mile Lane in the direction of Wrotham. A short pursuit ended in Borough Green, where all three occupants were detained.

A subsequent search led to the seizure of two barrels of fuel. Two men in their 20s — one from Durham, one from Surrey — were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a motor vehicle, and theft. The third man, in his 30s and also from Surrey, was arrested on suspicion of the same offences, as well as failing to stop, driving dangerously, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

All three remained in custody pending further enquiries.
