Gravesend man jailed for 18 years and six months for rape, stalking and coercive control

Tommy Eastwood, 26, was convicted at Maidstone Crown Court of two counts of rape, sexual assault, stalking, and coercive and controlling behaviour following an eight-year campaign against a woman in Gravesend.

Tommy Eastwood, aged 26, of Dering Way, Gravesend, has been sentenced to 18 years and six months’ imprisonment after being convicted of two counts of rape, sexual assault, stalking, and engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour. The sentence was imposed at Maidstone Crown Court on 2 October, following his conviction on 14 April 2026.

The victim reported the stalking and controlling behaviour to Kent Police in December 2024. During the investigation she disclosed numerous sexual assaults. Police said Eastwood repeatedly attended the victim’s home in Gravesend, where further abuse took place. He was arrested during the investigation and rearrested in April 2025. Eastwood denied the allegations throughout.

Detective Constable David Brown said Eastwood had repeatedly targeted the victim in her home and caused significant distress and trauma. Kent Police said the campaign of stalking and coercive and controlling behaviour lasted eight years.

The victim supported the prosecution. Kent Police described the offending as a prolonged campaign against her.
