Man arrested after two people stabbed in Gillingham alleyway

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a man and a teenage boy were allegedly stabbed with a bladed weapon in an alleyway in Gillingham late on Monday 20 July 2026.

Kent Police posted on social media that the two assaults took place in an alley between Ingram Road and Woodlands Road at around 11pm, leaving both victims with serious injuries.

According to local reporting, the victims were walking towards Woodlands Road when a man allegedly approached from the direction of The Vineries estate and attacked them. Police said the suspect was not known to either victim. He is alleged to have fled back towards The Vineries estate after the assaults.

Both victims were taken to hospital. The adult man has since been discharged. The teenage boy remains in hospital in a stable condition, according to reports.

The 33-year-old man, described by police as being from the local area, remains in custody while enquiries continue.

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses and have asked anyone with information, CCTV footage or dashcam recordings from the area between 10.50pm and 11pm on 20 July 2026 to come forward.
