Man in his 20s dies after car overturns on A20 in Harrietsham

A man in his 20s died at the scene after a red Ford Focus overturned on the A20 Ashford Road near Harrietsham in the early hours of Saturday 25 July 2026. A second man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A fatal collision was reported on the A20 Ashford Road — before the junction with Holm Mill Lane — at around 2.05am on Saturday 25 July 2026. A red Ford Focus had overturned. A man in his 20s, travelling in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

A second man in his 20s was also in the car. He sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving before being taken to hospital for treatment. An arrest does not constitute a charge or finding of guilt. The investigation is ongoing.

Police are now appealing for witnesses. They are particularly urging anyone with video footage of the Ford Focus from before the collision to come forward, as well as anyone who witnessed the incident on that stretch of the A20 Ashford Road.
