Murder investigation launched after fatal stabbing in Ramsgate harbour area

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and a murder investigation opened after two men were stabbed near Ramsgate harbour, leaving one dead and the other in hospital.

Kent Police confirmed that officers attended an incident in the harbour and foreshore area of Ramsgate following reports of a man with a knife. Two male victims suffered stab wounds and were taken to hospital. A 52-year-old man later died from his injuries. The second victim, aged 48, was treated and discharged.

A 21-year-old local man was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in police custody. Officers said they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses and for anyone with CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the harbour area and nearby streets to come forward. Additional police patrols have been deployed around the harbour and town centre.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
