A teenage girl on the carriageway — close to a footbridge by Teapot Lane — was struck by a Ford Transit van and a Vauxhall Corsa. She was confirmed dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

Anyone travelling that stretch between 3.15am and 3.28am who saw a pedestrian on the carriageway is asked to come forward. Dashcam footage from that window could prove useful and can be uploaded directly via the Kent Police public portal.
