Brands Hatch GP Race 1

Scott Redding claimed a commanding victory for Hager PBM Ducati in Race 1 of Round 11 of the 2026 British Superbike Championship at Kent’s Brands Hatch on Saturday, 17 October. The West Kingsdown circuit hosted a rain-affected encounter that was red-flagged on lap 15, with results declared final. Kyle Ryde of Nitrous Competitions Racing crossed the line in second place, whilst Ryan Vickers secured third for Honda Racing UK to complete the podium.

Redding produced a remarkable recovery drive, advancing from 11th place on the opening lap to seize the lead before heavy rain brought the race to a premature conclusion. Because more than two-thirds of the scheduled race distance had been completed, the results stood, rewarding Redding’s aggressive progress through the field. Ryde, starting from pole position, managed his risk carefully in the deteriorating conditions to finish 0.841 seconds adrift of the winner. Vickers completed the podium for Honda Racing UK, edging out Leon Haslam of Moto Rapido Ducati Racing by a margin of just 0.096 seconds — one of the closest battles of the afternoon — with Haslam classified fourth at 1.557 seconds behind Redding.

Max Cook delivered a strong showing for AJN Steelstock Bimota, taking fifth place and finishing 1.968 seconds off the race winner’s pace. Rory Skinner of Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha secured sixth, with Bradley Ray bringing his McAMS Yamaha home in seventh, 2.636 seconds behind Redding. Joe Talbot rounded out a productive afternoon for AJN Steelstock Bimota in eighth, whilst Danny Kent of Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha and Lee Jackson of DAO Racing Honda completed the top ten, separated by just 0.303 seconds at the flag.

The result keeps Redding’s championship aspirations firmly alive heading into the final stages of the 2026 season, with the Hager PBM Ducati rider demonstrating the capacity to recover ground swiftly in challenging conditions. Championship leader Kyle Ryde, despite relinquishing victory, retains a 48-point advantage in the standings ahead of Sunday’s remaining two races. With the title yet to be decided, both riders will return to the Brands Hatch circuit knowing that the outcome of the championship could be determined before the weekend is concluded.
