Podium

Kyle Ryde claimed victory for Nitrous Competitions Racing in Race 1 of the ZYN British Superbike Championship at Donington Park, Castle Donington, on 3 October 2026. The result marked the tenth round of the 2026 season, with Ryan Vickers of Honda Racing UK taking second place and Bradley Ray of McAMS Yamaha completing the podium in third. The three riders were separated by just over four seconds at the chequered flag.
Ryde, the defending champion, did not lead from the outset, finding himself as low as fifth place on the opening lap. He worked his way methodically through the field before making a decisive pass on Scott Redding at the Melbourne Loop, a move that proved pivotal in shaping the final outcome. Ryde’s winning time of 29:12.190 left Vickers 1.260 seconds adrift at the line, with Ray a further 3.180 seconds back in third. Redding, riding for Hager PBM Ducati, ultimately crossed the line in fourth, 6.081 seconds behind the winner, having been unable to respond to Ryde’s overtake in the closing stages.

Max Cook delivered a composed performance to bring his AJN Steelstock Bimota home in fifth place, finishing 7.777 seconds behind Ryde and ahead of Leon Haslam of Moto Rapido Ducati Racing in sixth. Haslam crossed the line some 17.126 seconds off the pace, with Danny Kent of Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha following in seventh, a further 1.017 seconds behind. Storm Stacey of Bathams AJN Racing Ducati and Joe Talbot, Ryde’s AJN Steelstock Bimota team-mate, rounded out the top nine, with Christian Iddon of Sencat Racing Yamaha completing the top ten, finishing 23.695 seconds behind the race winner.
The victory will provide considerable momentum for Kyle Ryde and Nitrous Competitions Racing as the 2026 British Superbike Championship enters its closing stages. Ryde’s ability to recover from fifth on the opening lap and execute a race-winning overtake on a close title rival underlines the composure and pace that have characterised his campaign. With the season approaching its conclusion, the result at Donington Park will be viewed as a significant statement of intent. The championship field will reconvene for the next round, where Ryde will look to consolidate the advantage suggested by his performance in Leicestershire.
