Rory Skinner claimed his first victory of the 2026 British Superbike Championship season at Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire, on Sunday 30 August, taking the chequered flag in Race 1 of Round 8 to head a closely contested podium. Kyle Ryde crossed the line in second place, 2.346 seconds adrift, with Leon Haslam completing the top three a further 0.891 seconds behind. The result delivered a commanding statement from Skinner and his Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha outfit at one of the calendar’s most demanding circuits.

Starting from second on the grid, Skinner executed a flawless holeshot at the outset and led throughout the entire race distance, crossing the line in a time of 26:04.431. Pole-sitter Bradley Ray applied pressure in the early stages, keeping close contact with the leader until lap five, when he crashed out at Park corner, removing himself from contention. Moments later, Storm Stacey suffered a separate incident at the same bend. Further disruption followed when Glenn Irwin was eliminated following a collision with Josh Brookes, and Ryan Vickers misjudged an overtaking manoeuvre at Park corner, bringing down both himself and Joe Talbot. With the lead group thinned by attrition, Skinner was untroubled thereafter, ultimately winning by more than two seconds from Ryde, who in turn held Haslam at arm’s length by just under a second at the flag.

Scott Redding secured fourth place, finishing 7.257 seconds behind the winner, while Jason O’Halloran and Lee Jackson completed a tight battle for fifth and sixth respectively, separated by just 0.170 seconds at the line. Max Cook took seventh, with Danny Kent eighth, 16.662 seconds off the pace. Josh Brookes recovered to ninth despite his earlier involvement in the incident with Glenn Irwin, and Ilya Mikhalchik rounded out the top ten. Christian Iddon was among those unable to finish, recorded as a retirement in the final classification.

The victory represents a significant milestone for Skinner and Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha, delivering their first race win of the 2026 campaign at the halfway point of the season. For Kyle Ryde, the runner-up result carries its own considerable weight: the TheSportsDB classification confirms that his second-place finish extends his lead at the top of the ZYN British Superbike Championship standings, consolidating his position as the title favourite heading into the remainder of the season.
