Podium

Scott Redding claimed victory for Hager PBM Ducati in a dramatic Race 3 of the ZYN British Superbike Championship at Donington Park, Castle Donington, on 4 October 2026. The race, the third instalment of Round 10, was concluded under red flag conditions on the penultimate lap, with Redding taking the chequered flag ahead of Max Cook of AJN Steelstock Bimota and Ryan Vickers of Honda Racing UK, who completed the podium in third.
Redding’s victory was shaped as much by misfortune elsewhere as by his own pace. A high-side crash by Glenn Irwin at Starkey’s Bridge on the penultimate lap brought out the red flag, freezing the order and confirming Redding’s win with a recorded time of 27:41.303. Cook crossed the line 2.254 seconds adrift, whilst Vickers finished a further 1.030 seconds behind in third. The race’s most significant subplot, however, concerned championship leader Kyle Ryde, who was forced to retire from a podium-contending position midway through the contest following a technical problem — his first DNF since 2024. Richard Kerr and Eugene McManus also failed to finish, compounding a difficult afternoon for several competitors.

Bradley Ray delivered a composed performance for McAMS Yamaha to secure fourth place, finishing 8.017 seconds behind the race winner. Rory Skinner, representing Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha, came home fifth, 13.086 seconds off the pace, whilst his team-mate Danny Kent crossed the line seventh. Joe Talbot provided AJN Steelstock Bimota with a double points finish by taking sixth, and Christian Iddon of Sencat Racing Yamaha and Ilya Mikhalchik of the ROKiT BMW Motorrad British Superbike Race Team rounded out the top nine, separated by less than half a second at the flag.
Redding’s victory carries considerable weight in the context of the championship picture. Kyle Ryde’s retirement reduced his lead at the head of the standings from 78 points to 53 points, handing Redding and his rivals renewed cause for optimism ahead of the final triple-header Showdown Finale at Brands Hatch later this month. For Hager PBM Ducati, the result represents a timely demonstration of competitiveness at a critical stage of the season. With the title fight now considerably tighter, all eyes will turn to Brands Hatch as the championship reaches its conclusion.
