Police dogs assist in arrest of suspected drug dealer in Medway

Kent Police says two police dogs helped officers detain a suspect and seize suspected Class A and Class B drugs during an operation in Medway.

Kent Police says two police dogs assisted officers in arresting a suspect and recovering suspected Class A and Class B controlled substances in the Medway area. The force did not disclose the suspect’s identity, the precise location of the arrest, the date of the operation, or the quantities and types of drugs involved.

No charge or court appearance has been confirmed in connection with the arrest. The drugs are classified under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, which places substances into categories according to their assessed potential for harm.

Kent Police has described the operation as part of continuing action against suspected drug dealing in Medway. The force has reported separate enforcement activity in the area, including a warrant on 24 June 2025 after which two suspected Medway dealers faced eight charges, and a February 2025 operation in Gillingham in which around 70 wraps were seized. Neither of those incidents has been confirmed as connected to the arrest described in the force’s social media post.
