Smoke alert issued near Chilmington Green as firefighters tackle Ashford industrial blaze

According to BBC News, firefighters were tackling a blaze at an industrial waste unit, with residents in the Brunswick Road area of Ashford also advised to keep doors and windows shut. Kent Fire and Rescue Service deployed ten fire engines, a ladder truck and a bulk water carrier to the incident. The cause of the fire had not been confirmed and no information on injuries was available.
