Flat block basement fire in All Saints Avenue, Margate treated as suspicious

Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire in the basement of a block of flats in All Saints Avenue, Margate, on Monday afternoon. The blaze was later treated as suspicious.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service reported that crews were called to a fire in the basement of a block of flats in All Saints Avenue, Margate. According to BBC reporting, the call came in at around 15:20 BST.

Seven fire engines attended the scene, along with ventilation equipment used to clear smoke from the surrounding area. No injuries were reported and residents were not required to evacuate, according to BBC reporting.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service later described the incident as suspicious.
