Drug dealer jailed after cannabis factory found in Greenhithe home

Week Street in Maidstone town centre, Kent

Xhevahir Axhami, 33, was sentenced to two years in prison at Maidstone Crown Court after admitting being concerned in the production of cannabis at a Sayer Close property where more than 70 plants were discovered.

A man has been jailed after Kent Police found a cannabis factory running out of a house in Greenhithe. Xhevahir Axhami, 33, an Albanian national of Park Road, Enfield, admitted the offence and was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on 13 July 2026. Two years behind bars.

Officers executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at the Sayer Close address on 27 March 2026. Once inside, they broke through several stud walls — and what they found behind them tells its own story. More than 70 plants spread across the ground floor living area and two upstairs bedrooms, growing equipment throughout. Axhami was found inside a bathroom and arrested.

PC Michael Belfrage, the investigating officer, said: “Cultivations like this can help to fund serious organised crime, so officers work relentlessly to identify these sites and dismantle them. We take the illegal use and supply of drugs extremely seriously and urge anyone concerned about drug activity in their neighbourhood to contact us so that we can take action.”
