Gravesend man jailed for more than 20 years for child rape and covertly filming over 39 victims
A man from Gravesend has been jailed for more than 20 years after being convicted of child rape and secretly recording more than 39 people without their knowledge, according to Kent Police.
Kent Police announced the sentence via its Gravesend social media account, stating that the offender had “spied on” more than 39 victims through covert image or video capture, alongside contact sexual offences against at least one child. The total sentence exceeds 20 years and comprises a custodial term combined with an extended licence period, a disposal used by courts when an offender is assessed as posing a continuing risk of serious harm to the public.
The offender was also placed on the sex offenders register and made subject to a sexual harm prevention order, which imposes restrictions on his behaviour and provides a legal framework for monitoring him following any eventual release.
