Lydd man jailed for eight years after rape conviction at Canterbury Crown Court

Johnson, from Lydd, had denied the offence. The court also imposed a 15-year restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the victim.

According to Kent Police, the offence took place on the evening of 12 June 2023 at Manor Road, where the victim had been invited to where Johnson was living. Police said he offered the victim cannabis, exploited her vulnerability, sexually assaulted her, and prevented her from leaving his room despite her repeatedly saying no.
