A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and bailed after a man in his 70s suffered multiple injuries — including a serious wrist injury — when a catapult was allegedly fired at him on Waterloo Road, Cranbrook, on 16 June 2026, according to Kent Police.
Kent Police said the arrest was made on 19 July 2026. The boy has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
According to Kent Police, officers were called to Waterloo Road at around 6.30pm on Tuesday 16 June 2026 following reports that five young people had fired a catapult at the pensioner. The victim spoke to attending officers at the scene before going to hospital for treatment. Kent Police said he suffered multiple injuries, including a serious injury to his wrist.
The suspects are reported to have fled towards The Hill, known locally as The Crane.
Kent Police are appealing for witnesses who have not yet come forward, and anyone with CCTV footage from the area is asked to get in touch. Enquiries are ongoing.
